ONLY PRAYERS WILL HELP BUHARI TO RESCUE NIGERIANS AT THIS TIME—ISLAMIC CLERIC

ONLY PRAYERS WILL HELP BUHARI TO RESCUE NIGERIANS AT THIS TIME—ISLAMIC CLERIC The Special Adviser to the President on Islamic Religion,Sheik Imam Babagana umara Imam has emphasised that is Prayers of Nigerians that will help Buhari to rescue Nigerian at this time that the Economy of the country is negatively having a downward movement. According to him the safety of the country is in the hands of Everyone in respective of weather you are a Christian, Muslim or even a none religion Man. "All hands must be on deck to help Buhari succeed in rescuing Nigeria from the dungeon of economy stagnation". He stated He stated this in Yola during the wedding Fatiha of the Son of Adamawa state Governor, Senator Muhammadu Umaru Jibrilla Bindow. Babagana said the insurgents wrecked a serious havoc in North East part of the country and it take a leaders with a Strong heart to over come the effects its drenched on millions of Nigerians. He also begged Nigerians to be patience with the present leadership,as he is very much aware that the Buhari led administration is working around the cloak to bring a lasting solutions to the lingering fuel crisis, Naira Devaluation and Boko Haram insurgency that has become a national topic of discourse. SOYINKA CALLS FOR DIALOGUE, SAYS BIAFRA LED NIGERIA TO CIVIL WAR THAT KILLED MILLIONS By The Nigerian Voice

Prof Soyinka recently played the role of a wise elder when he urged the FG go apply tact in dealing with the renewed call for an independent Republic of Biafra. The agitations which smouldered under the leadership of Chief Raph Uwazuruike and his MASSOB gained altitude with the emergence of Biafra Radio ,powered by a young Nigerian, Nnnamdi Kanu, who chose the United Kingdom as his second home. Biafra has refused to be confined to the dustbin of History. The name led Nigeria to a Civil War that claimed millions of lives and destroyed infrastructure worth trillions o Naira. At the end of the 31- month old crisis, the belief was that what led to the bloodletting in the first place would never be allowed to germinate in the future. Forty –five years after, the cries are all over the South-East and parts of the South-South-geo –political zones. Soyinka was part of the story of the war. There were fears that he had sympathy for the Biafrans simply because some of his friends found themselves on the other side of the divide. Chinua Achebe, Emmanuel Ifeajuna and Chris Okigbo played active roles. The bonding spirit of the University College Ibadan, was so strong. Achebe did not go to the battle field with Rocket Propelled Grenades[RPG] and Small Machine Guns[SMG]. He was part of the Biafran Ministry of Information which could move mountains with words. Ifeajuna was part of the liberation of the Mid-West but was cut down by bullets on allegation of plotting to topple Col. Emeka Ojukwu, the Biafran leader. Okigbo was brave and joined the Army. In an act that could earn a post humous medal, he tried to blow up a Federal Armoured tank with a grenade. He lost his life in the process. Soyinka did not fight in any of the major sectors but fight he did. He was detained by the General Yakubu Gowon government until the end of the war. While in jail, his father died and the writer was not allowed the tradition of burying his dad. It was in prison that he wrote The man died. The Laureate therefore is in a vantage position to talk about Biafra and the way forward. His take is that anyone who believes that Biafra would be destroyed by sending a squadron of policemen to Onitsha, Aba , Port-Harcourt or Asaba should think twice. Prof. Soyinka’s alternative is dialogue in order to find out what the grievances of the agitators are and how to meet their demands even if halfway. His conviction is that Biafra cannot die. That is a salient point. The people who feel they do not want to be part of Nigeria anymore may change their minds if certain reassurances and guarantees were made. And more should be done for the people of the South-East to feel they are part and parcel of the Federal Republic. This warning is timely. The nation cannot afford another Civil War. No nation has really survived two civil wars. Times are rough for our democracy as insurgency continues to ravage the North-East. The economy is almost down on its knees and money meant for national development must not be wasted on another crisis down south. While we condemn any acts of violence from those who are free to make their points peacefully, we also advise that live bullets should not be used on innocent protesters and unarmed civilians. The militarisation of the Sout –East should be discouraged. Nigeria cannot afford to fight on two fronts. Normalcy should reign in places where protests have been held. In Onitsha innocent citizens now live in fear because they are forced to raise their hands in surrender as they go through areas like Upper Iweka and Headbridge. Government while maintaining peace should also offer a hand of dialogue. The peace we enjoy in the Niger Delta today came because late President, Umaru Musa Yar’adua toed the path of jawjaw. That is the way to go and this is time to avert further crisis.

NIGERIANS ARE SUFFERING, BUHARI MUST STOP NEEDLESS FOREIGN TRIPS, US TRIP IS “JOKE OF THE YEAR—FAYOSE

Nigerians are suffering, Buhari must stop needless foreign trips, US trip is “joke of the year” - Fayose Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has called on well-meaning Nigerians to prevail on President Mohammadu Buhari to stop his needless foreign trips, describing the president’s trip to the United States of America on Wednesday for the 4th Nuclear Security Summit while Nigerians are suffering at home as “joke of the year.” The governor said “it remains a mystery what President Buhari that met power generation at 6,000MW and could not manage it such that power generation crumbled to Zero Megawatt yesterday, will contribute to the Nuclear Energy Summit in America.” Speaking through his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said “it is shameful that while President Buhari was far away in the United States of America, attending a summit that does not have any bearing on Nigeria and its people, an unprecedented happened - power generation stopped completely for over three hours!” He said the sufferings of Nigerians deserved the attention of the president instead of junketing around the world, wasting the country’s scarce foreign exchange. The governor alleged that over $50 million must have been spent on the president’s frequent foreign trips, adding that Nigerians should ask President Buhari whether his trip to the United States of America to attend Nuclear Energy Summit will bring the lingering fuel scarcity being experienced in the country to an end. “Nigerians are suffering. Petrol has become so scarce that our people now sleep in petrol stations to buy fuel at N200 per litre while the president who should alleviate their sufferings is in the USA, attending a summit that he won’t even understand whatever that is discussed there. “This is not acceptable. Mr President should stay at home and see to it that at least, power generation returns to 6,000MW that he met it if he cannot add to it. “Mr President should stay at home and bring this fuel scarcity that has paralysed almost all activities in the country to an end. “Nigerians are saying their president should stay at home and bring to an end the killings, raping of women and destruction of farmlands by Fulani herdsmen. “Most importantly, the President should listen more to those of us who criticise him instead of those hailing every of his wrong steps either because of what they intend to gain or for fear of persecution,” the governor said.
